Oh, I don’t know… I’ve known many very highly-educated people who can’t spell correctly to save their lives. English is a lot tougher than many languages when it comes to spelling, probably because it’s borrowed from so many different sources that the phonetic rules are complicated and not so clear-cut… too many exceptions to the rules that do exist.
I’ve always had a photographic memory when it comes to spelling, and won contests back in grade school… I never really had to work at it, it always just came naturally to me. But I’ve learned to recognize that spelling doesn’t come as easily to some… and it doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re stupid.

Brilliant. A picture really is worth a thousand words. What dum bigots. We have the same kind of anti-French dumbos here. I think they all must come from the Lou Dobbs Trailer Park….
