Unabashedly stolen from My 2 Cents.
Using the Entertainment Weekly list of the top 100 movies from the last 25 years:
- Bold the movie if you’ve seen it
- Put asterisks next to the movies you’ve seen and really liked. If you saw a film and hated it, cross it out.
I’ve seen 33 of the Top 100 films, but outright hated only three of them. (I’m sure I’ll get a lot of flack over those three particular titles—as well as the huge number of films I have not seen.) So despite some earlier questions on the subject, I guess that on the whole I really do enjoy my movie going experiences.

I’ve seen 51 of the 100. But I must say that Entertainment Weekly has shitty taste in movies. However, I recommend Children of Men and Far From Heaven.
Yes, I have a thing for Julianne Moore. Shoot me.

I saw 60 of them. I have so much antipathy for the Blair Witch Project. It gave me a headache and bored me! I was ready to kill those kids myself 15 minutes into the movie.

I’ve seen 78 of the top 100. I worked at a movie theater in the early 90s, so I saw pretty much everything that came out.
I agree completely with the three you hated.

Pulp Fiction is the best movie in the last 25 years? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!

I liked Napoleon Dynamite, but I could easily see someone hating it… it’s, how you say, an acquired taste.
You’ll probably think I’m crazy, but I thought the lead character was HOT! (Well, in a geeky, dorky sort of way…)
I never saw the other two you crossed out… but I knew from the previews I had no desire to see anything Austin Powers…

You have not seen “Back To The Future”? WTF??? Are you living in a cave? It was a FUN movie!!! MJF was cute! Pulp Fiction has to be seen AND understood to be truely enjoyed. The movie makes sense once you watch it with the director commentary running. #1? I don’t know, but considering how weak some of these TOP 100 movies are, I can’t argue that much. Too bad Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink didn’t make the list. I think John Hughes really nailed the 80’s high school theme, dead on. There again, no John Waters films. And I don’t think Hairspray was that weak of a film. Then again, it wasn’t Pink Flamingos either
If you want 70’s high school, see Dazed and Confused.
I somehow missed highlighting Back to the Future. It’s been corrected. - Alex

It’s amazing to me that Twelve Monkeys doesn’t appear in the list. As a longtime science fiction fan, I think it’s an egregious oversight. Also, Magnolia should’ve been there (but I’m glad that Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights appears). Wow…I can’t believe how many movies I’ve seen from this list!
